Overview
SkyFlat represents the true state of the art in terms of very high spectral efficiency and compactness with respect to any other terminal.
The system revolves around the innovative concept of “radiant tablets”: highly efficient, proprietary enhanced phased array modules forming the base for a scalable RF architecture, fully characterizable via software and easily mechanically conformable to fit even the most complex and space-constrained installation.

SkyFlat consists of a sophisticated high-gain array of SuperTuned Horns, combined with each other by very low-loss recombination networks and managed by phase shifters providing very high rate switching speed, high RF transfer capacity, controlled equalization and accurate beam forming for any pointing angle required.
The electronic beam management operate between 30° to 150° of elevation and unlimited 360° of azimuth with 500°/sec of reaction speed in both elevation and azimuth.

Particular attention has been given to the orientation calculation system of the entire combination of horn arrays in order to ensure independent pointing capability and very fast alternation of pointing re-locks of each single beam, guaranteeing superlative orbital trajectory accuracy for each single beam acquisition, thanks to a dedicated and sophisticated engineering of the integrated GNSS, IMU and Gyro system specifically developed for this project.
